Serving Tampa Bay businesses
St. Petersburg, Tampa, Clearwater and the surrounding Pinellas and Hillsborough communities have an unusual concentration of the businesses we are built for: e-commerce operations, medical and dental practices, contractors and manufacturers, law firms, real estate investors, and the professional service firms that support all of them.
Being local means we can sit across a table when that is what a conversation needs. It does not mean we work only with local clients, and it does not mean you need to drive here for a routine monthly review.
What Florida businesses should know
Florida imposes no personal income tax, which changes the arithmetic of owner compensation compared with most states, but it does impose a corporate income tax on C-Corporations and it does administer sales and use tax with genuine enforcement attention.
- Florida corporate income tax applies to C-Corporations and to entities taxed as corporations
- Sales and use tax registration, collection and filing, including on commercial rent where it applies
- Reemployment tax for employers, administered separately from federal unemployment tax
- Tangible personal property tax returns filed with the county property appraiser
- Annual report filings with the Florida Division of Corporations to keep the entity active
For businesses relocating to Florida, the state change itself is often the largest single tax event of the decade, and the sequencing of residency, entity domicile and asset transfers matters more than most people expect.
How we work with local clients
The same way we work with everyone: a defined monthly close, a scheduled reporting package, a planning cycle through the year, and a named person who answers the phone. In-person meetings are available and are genuinely useful at onboarding, at year-end planning, and whenever a decision is large enough to deserve a room.
